Store i can use to buy iodine as a housekeeper with my brewing equipment beer? Whatever you use, make sure it is rinsed properly or you have a problem with your kill the yeast. A store bought iodine can change the taste a bit, but you can always give it a shot. Personally, I use a disinfectant for water supply services that I down, then I rinse thoroughly and dry it faster than I can.
I usually use plain old Javex (bleach) and never had a problem.
Not as a cleaning product. Iodine can be used as a disinfectant. But do not use iodine from your local pharmacy. Instead of trying a local beer and wine merchant who iodofore for use as a disinfectant.
As the man said, using the bleach is a disinfectant chlorind large and downs. about 1 fl oz per gallon of water use and allow your equipment to soak 20 minutes. You should rinse your equipment very well with bleach. The main ingredient in the bleach sodium hypochlorite is deadly to yeast. Also any residue left on the bleach your equipment will not taste your beer.
However, as a cleaning product, you can go to your local hardware store for the purchase of trisodium phosphate (TSP) as your own detergent. It leaves no residue and cleans very well. Then you will be able to disinfect with bleach.
Nope ... this is not the same as iodophor (the kind of disinfection). It is an iodine compound different and do not act the same way. Mainly because it does not deteriorate when it is dried so that when you sanitize your equipment and let it dry, toxic residues remain in your yeast for the next batch you make. Iodophor broken so that it will not affect your yeast ... both the fermentation and flavor. Regular iodine from your local pharmacy is not the same as another form of iodine solution.
It is preferable to use the sanitizing of equipment that breweries sell it is very effective and a little hard time.
