Bird Carriers

Bird CarriersPLEASE HELP! I need info on bird carriers ...........?

I have a cockatiel and recently bought a green cheeked conure. I travel out of state to visit family and I have always taken the cockatiel, but will now play the green as well. My question is: Is there a place anywhere where I can get a carrier birds, two birds?

I would not put them in the same carrier or one that shares a wall because even if they decide to fight during the trip, the other bird can not really get away and it can be traumatic. I just got the cat carrier for my birds because they are much cheaper than the carriers is for the birds and work equally well. They are also good because the bird can not really chew through them.

It is possible, but it is alway better to get two separate reports.

I'm not sure. It would probably be best kept separate.

Congratulations on your new green cheek! I had mine for 10 years now, and I love him to death.

If you decide to have two cages, buy a Pet Wear (or similar brand) that is sold in dogs and cats / small animals section of pet stores or department stores.

I use these because they are easy to disassemble and wash. also the plastic top provides superior coverage to perhaps help the birds stay calm little.

You can drill a hole in the side of the door and screw on a perch. Then you can anchor the bowls on the door for food and water. If you do not want the birds to get shit on their feet, you can put a grid of hard plastic cut to the size of the carrier, just above the bottom of things.

Good luck in your travels.
