My moms side of the family name is ... Loux but since she married it was changed ... but we know we have a lot of French in us, and history of a lot o well with the surname Loux * *... So if you have ANY information about this or any sites that have good track record please let me know ... again the name is ... Loux the first name you might want to try is his [kevin dads name:
Thank you very much!

http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/ ...
has nearly 5,000 entries for Loux.

http://genforum.genealogy.com/loux/
is devoted to the family.

171 entries for the surname

Without a birth and date of death, and birth and place of death (city, county, province), the search for Kevin, it's like finding a needle in a haystack.

It seems to be German rather than French. This gentleman seems to have been the founder of the American branch of your family mothers.

1. Johann Peter Loux, known as Peter Loux, born in 1726 in Munster, Germany. He died February 16, 1799 in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Johann emigrated September 16, 1748 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Shie "Paliena.

This site represents the distribution of Loux family to America in 1920.

A family name is not genealogy, not all people with the same name, will be linked. Meaning .. it is not a family "for a surname.
If the maiden name of mother Loux, then his story is his father so and so =, = and his mother this. ALSO mom mom will have a name different from birth. In other words, his ancestors are those who exact it down (the same for your father).
ALL genealogy will begin with this, and it is a personal / individual thing. brother of your mother will share his ancestry. His cousin of Dad's side can be named Loux, but his story does include the line of his mother.
So .. how do you find your story? you use folders, ie your birth certificate to verify your parents. The same is true of their parents (your grandparents). Documents relating to your grandparents (CERT birth / death, census if born before 1930, military records, etc. etc.) you speak.
The back, the further away .. more doors open. When you reach the gr gr grandparents, there are 16 of them, all with their own name and own personal facts. Your odds increase by double each generation back .. you can possibly find a distant cousin who has some information (remember to check, though).
Do not expect to start the search to be online because it is often people. There are thousands of useful sites .. but you are the number one to those who are good. Do not limit yourself to a site. I can tell you about the great sites of Land Records of Texas, but if you're in Michigan, which is useless.
www.rootsweb.com has a good tutorial on searching for documents you need. But you must first "make" individual angle and express it, instead of the name.
ps
monitor the spelling .. using the link on the first answer .. the original name could be Loucks .. who happen to be one of the lines of my husband. His line is quick NY start.

Kevin Loux is rare in the census records, and they have not art
