Search Family and amateur genealogist I was on a quest to search for the family for several years now. Some of these sites before I used all this time to understand familysearch.org run by the Latter Day Saints, often called LDS, Ancestry, operated by The Generations Network, The Genealogist.co.uk ; Genes Reunited and Findmypast. com .
FamilySesarch, however, is one of the largest organizations in the genealogy in the world and as such is an important online tool for any family historian. Tens of millions of us search in the files, resources and services of this site to learn more about our family history each year. For over a century, the people behind it have been actively collecting, preserving and sharing genealogical records worldwide. Today, users of the site are able to freely access the database, including the International Genealogical Index and a member of the church have provided information, online at FamilySearch.org or through more 4,500 family history centers in 70 countries.
The site is managed by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, sometimes called the Mormon Church. Their commitment to helping people make the link with their ancestors came from their belief that families are supposed to be central to our lives and family relationships are to continue in the afterlife. From what they believe then that all family members including those living in the past and future ones, share a lasting bond that spans generations.
Their website does not require you to share their beliefs at all, but is open to all of us to use what ever our creed, or culture. It is a valuable resource for anyone involved in the detective work involved in finding his family tree.

Once you enter the name of your ancestor in the search box you will have access to a compilation of registers of baptism and marriage records from parish and their counterparts around the world. Even if a site run by the United States, for those of us with roots in the UK remains very relevant as it represents us well with the index entries. Some English counties, in particular, have excellent coverage.
The website, however, is not perfect because there are problems with how you can search its data. One of them is that it is not always easy to find your ancestors, even when they are there to be found in the IGI - which, of course, is not always the case. If you are unable to locate easily what is probably down to the fact that the site's search engine does not search by name only, unless you're looking for in a single batch of documents at a time or in all the United Kingdom! You probably understand that finding a name in the whole of England is a very large order indeed. Remember that it is not even a search of a single county, let alone a city we are talking about. If you have a rare name, so perhaps it might be OK to do, but if you are looking for a Smith or Jones, then you ask the impossible.
I learned that there is a way around this problem. It involves using a handy Web site set up by an enthusiast with a family history researcher find their way into the site FamilySearch. Moreover, it helps us to know what records are available on the GII. T.
