Family History Centers are operated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They have access to a wealth of genealogical records held at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. With more than 4,500 centers located Latter-day Saints throughout the United States and countries abroad, you can easily find one near you.

You can find this information from the resource centers or online via the website of Latter-day Saints. Internet connectivity is available in most centers, some with online subscriptions, websites for genealogical research. Pedigree Resource Files that are stored on compact discs may also be available at the centers for use in your search or they can be purchased online via the website of Latter Day Saints church.

These centers are designed to help the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints members identify their ancestors and provide temple ordinances. However, everyone is welcome to use the centers for their research for free. There is a small sum to microfiche, films or books of the Library of Utah to cover shipping.

The Family History Centers are volunteers who can provide guidance on the titles of the herd's Family History Library, answer some research questions, and help you use center resources. Most centers also offer training courses on a variety of topics of genealogical research for their bosses.
