Mini Dv Deck

Mini Dv DeckMini DV Deck which is less expensive than the GV-D1000?

I have owned a Canon GL2 for about 2-3 years ... have not used for a very long time.

I just discovered that the FireWire port on the camera is damaged.

Does anyone have suggestions on a mini-dv deck that can provide data DV tape into a computer while maintaining a high quality?

The Sony GV-D1000 has too many features I did not need and the price is around a grand. (Do not bother).

Regarding bridges miniDV, to tell you the truth, I know nothing about them. But if you have not used your GL2 for a very long time, consider selling it (I buy a second if I had money :-). It is a great, great camera, but it's pretty old, and since you do not use it often, it will not be any in recent 2-3 years.

If you have not decided to sell it, then do what it says and buy a camera olin1963 ultra-cheap (eBay is a good place to do this). However, as I said in the foregoing, if you do not use it that much, you might as well sell the GL2 and get a good camera, instead of keeping one with a port and a camera damged shit.

Moreover, considering the price of fixing the port. If it's not too expensive, it could be cheaper and better than getting a separate device, as is sometimes the bands playing with another unit may distort the image and cause loss of quality. Hope this helps! BTW, did you shoot this YouTube video with your GL2?

Buy a cheap MiniDV camcorder with a FireWire port. The digital format is the playback quality via Firewire will be the same if you use a GL2 camcorder or $ 300. Plus, you can leave it permanently connected to your NLE to avoid the hassle connections.
