Falling in love with Pentax DCF SP 8x43 Binoculars The DCF SP 8x43 Pentax binoculars are smooth, well balanced, ergonomically designed and beautiful to handle, an excellent match for far more expensive binoculars of high quality. If you do not have to spend £ 1000 + and want high performance superior optics wrapped in a beautiful lightweight but rugged body then take a serious look at the Pentax DCF SP 8x43's.
The picture quality is incredible, I took the binoculars Pentax 8x43 DCF SP awaiting a visit from good quality but was pleasantly surprised by the brightness and clarity of the image. Roof prisms are top quality, high refraction Bak-4 phase coated binoculars and like all high-quality Pentax DCF SP comes with several fully coated lenses. Pentax use their own specially formulated lens coating that has proven to provide exceptionally bright images and high contrast (according to the brochure) and, in my opinion, these twins got up to the hype. I was particularly impressed by how they played against my all time favorites, the Swarovski EL 8.5x42, which are much more expensive.
I was impressed by the speed of the emphasis for me is an important element that always influences my purchase decision and can focus as close 2mtrs was an added bonus. The eye relief is exceptionally good at 22mm (for 8x43 DCF SP Binoculars Pentax), the "twist" eyecups are comfortable and easy to use and the exit pupil is 5.4mm, all characteristics that make them ideal for carrying binoculars Pentax glasses. I do not think the objective lens covers prove irritating, but I was wrong, they hang unobtrusively below the binoculars are not in the path.
The body of the binoculars Pentax DCF SP is relatively compact and lightweight (695g) for twin-size because of its magnesium alloy body. They are covered with rubber armoring dark green, which makes it not only exceptionally strong, but also comfortable to hold.
As one might expect from a quality Pentax DCF SP binocular is waterproof (JIS Class 6), nitrogen filled and sealed, ensuring that they can be used in all weather conditions, and are fully protected against fogging and potentially harmful dust particles.
All in all binoculars Pentax 8x43 DCF SP get my seal of approval, they are exceptional value for money with many features that make their performance comparable to much more expensive binoculars. The high performance optics, coating lenses and prisms are of exceptional quality and sophistication of the center-focus optical design has helped make the Pentax DCF SP is light and compact 8x43 binoculars. I have not tried to astronomy, but they hold up well in a marine environment and they are very impressive when used for bird watching.
What binoculars for bird watching, I still prefer the Swarovski EL 8.5x43, but I am always happy with the Pentax DCF SP and given the cost difference, I could not tell the difference between the two warrant price tag much higher.
